Clinical Director
Overland Park

Karla has always had a passion for working with children on the autism spectrum. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary and Special Education, a Masters in Elementary Education and completed course work to earn her BCBA. Karla started her career working in schools teaching elementary and special education, including teaching in an intensive autism program. Teaching in the autism classroom gave Karla experience in verbal behavior, discrete trial teaching, direct instruction, natural environment teaching, functional communication training as well as implementing positive behavior supports.
Karla worked to promote acceptance of all students by educating students and staff, providing social opportunities with peer models and including students with their general education peers whenever possible. She continues to create learning opportunities to help children with autism build connections and feel included with their peers and in their communities.
